That’s right Ladies and Gentlemen (and everyone else)! We have a home!

Unfortunately, we will not be able to move into our permanent home right away, however our new Master (aka the landlord) has been generous enough to let us use a smaller space until the permanent one is ready for us.

If there are any other tenants out and about, please be respectful and considerate. Not all of them know what we do and many of them probably don't want to.

The temporary space is still larger than WS1 at 2900 square feet and this is the space that we will be opening for Halloween! This space does have a few shortcomings in that it is not yet fully air conditioned (hooray for cooler nights!) and does not have the carpet so many of us knew and loved. However, we do believe that the air conditioning already in place can make the space comfortable. We are also told that it takes approximately 3 days to get power turned on. We are going to do everything in our power (heehee) to make sure that happens by Saturday, however it is possible that power may not happen. If anyone has a generator they wouldn’t mind lending, please let us know!

In order to thank everyone for their generosity during the fund raising (and because it won’t be a fully equipped Woodshed), the entrance for Halloween is just $10 per person!

Now, on to the gooder news!

The permanent space that we will be moving into is about 6,000 square feet with 18 foot ceilings just begging for winches. That’s about 3 times bigger than WS1! It will have both a larger office/reception area as well as a larger dungeon proper. This space is also not yet fully air conditioned, however in installing the AC ourselves we can ensure that we no longer have the vast temperature differences between dungeon and office that we had with WS1.

A new feature with this space is that it will be semi-divided into two dungeons. We know that some of you have concerns about this layout and we have thought about those concerns while looking at locations. We were of the opinion that there were both pros and cons to this design and were content to let the space dictate whether we ended up with one dungeon or two. With this space we will have two main dungeon areas, however we will do our best to still make them feel connected as much as possible. The reason it is divided in the first place is that we are actually leasing two separate units that are divided by a giant wall. While it is not possible to completely remove this wall and make it one space, it IS possible to cut a big damn hole or two in it, and that is what we shall do. Also, because both sides are meant to be a unit unto themselves, they each come with a bathroom meaning we get TWO bathrooms with Woodshed 2.0! Woohoo!

We have no doubt that with this expansion will come more than a few needs. We may end up posting a wish list in the near future as we plan improvements and make ourselves at home. Right now, one thing that we know we will need is couches! We hope to have more square footage dedicated to “social area” in this space and would even like to have an area dedicated to Aftercare Only. Any comfy seating would go a long way towards making that happen. As you may have read in Shannon’s thread on FetLife, we also have plans to expand our retail section. If you have anything that could be used to display merchandise, please let us know. If you have something and you’re not sure it’s what we’re looking for, please don’t hesitate to ask.

We have no doubt that we will also need a lot of man/woman power at some point and rest assured that we will put the call out as soon as we can put all you addicts to work!
